Local Band to Headline Pickin’ on the Greene Pullin’ Strings excited to perform on Friday, June 26 (Greensboro, GA-June 15, 2015) For the local musicians who make up Pullin’ Strings headlining for Downtown Greensboro’s summer event is sure to be a fun time. For those of us in Georgia’s Lake Country looking for a toe-tappin’ good time, it is an evening in Downtown Greensboro that you simply will not want to miss! Greensboro’s fourth annual Pickin’ on the Greene will take place from 7-10 pm on Friday, June 26 with headliner Pullin’ Strings. The free event will showcase historic downtown Greensboro as Americana and Bluegrass tunes fill Main Street. Greene County-based Pullin’ Strings band is widely known for their unique sounds of Americana and Bluegrass feel. Marvin Payne, Robert Lewis and Sibley Brian all know how to wow the crowd with their three-part harmony. Their crowd favorite is always Johnny Cash’s I’ve Been Everywhere with the Greene County verse. Opening for Pullin’ Strings is a laid back group called Friends of Pullin’ Strings. This group is a few local and out of town friends who pick and play instruments with some of the band members. Their song selections will include 90’s rock, folk and bluegrass. “We are humbled to have the opportunity to play at ‘Pickin’ on the Greene’ again,” remarks Sibley Bryan, five-string banjo player for Pullin’ Stings. “It is a great community event that draws the local community as well as people from neighboring communities to downtown Greensboro.” In addition to great live music, Pickin’ on the Greene will highlight area community groups and non-profits. Christ City of Faith will be selling BBQ, Yesterday Café will have an outside cash bar, and there will be snow cones and Greene County Family Connections will a bounce house for the kids. “We hope to see the whole community out for this event,” says Robert Lewis, lead vocals and rhythmic guitar for Pullin’ Strings. “We think this is a night in downtown that our friends and neighbors will really enjoy!” For more information about Pickin’ on the Greene or to register an organization to participate please contact the Greensboro Main Street Office at (706) 453-7674.
