Georgia Classic Cruisers sponsors car show ![]() Georgia Classic Cruisers car club organizes the 16th Annual Southland Jubilee Car Show on Saturday, April 19, 2014 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Interested in attending or participating in classic car shows? Among this family-friendly festival comprised of children’s activities, arts and crafts vendors, agriculture and wildlife exhibits, live entertainment and your favorite festival foods, you will also find a classic car show. The car show has been a part of the Southland Jubilee since its inception fifteen years ago and the Georgia Classic Cruisers car club has sponsored it from the beginning, along with the Greensboro Better Hometown Program. “The Southland Jubilee car show draws in a variety of cars and trucks, from classics to muscle cars, from the 1920s all the way up to modern sports cars,” said Ron Hazzard, president of Georgia Classic Cars. “But I would say many of the cars are from the 1960s and 70s and most of these are Chevys and Fords.” The car show will feature as many as 150 antique, classic, muscle, hot rod and other special interest cars and trucks, stretching over four blocks in length within historic downtown Greensboro. Registered cars will also have the opportunity to win awards. Over the last several years, GCC gives out between 50 and 55 awards each year. GCC typically has 80 to 85 entries. Depending on the model of the car and the model year, there are approximately 15 different categories for which a participant could qualify. All cars are judged by independent judges in five different areas of the vehicle, including the interior, exterior and engine. For questions and information on how to register for the car show, please contact Ron Hazzard at (706) 467-9306 or rhazzard@plantationcable.net. As attendance at Southland Jubilee grows each year, the festival not only consists of a day-long event of family-fun, but also provides a significant economic impact on the local businesses of Historic Downtown Greensboro. Sponsorships have always been a huge part of the success of the festival. With the growth of the community, increased promotion and the support from local businesses, this year’s festival is expecting 8,000 in attendance. Southland Jubilee is now accepting sponsorships for the event. “Southland Jubilee brings so many people to Greene County, not only for the day of the festival, but for the entire weekend. Local residents and visitors from all over the state are drawn together for this event,” said David McKoy, co-owner of C.W. Smith Insurance Agency and dedicated sponsor. “Sponsoring the festival is a way to showcase what all Greensboro has to offer and in turn benefits our local economy.” Sponsorships are also a way to show support to the local community, where the results of sponsoring this annual festival are exponential. Not only does sponsorship of Southland Jubilee allow for the planning and execution of the festival each year, but in addition provides guaranteed exposure for those businesses that help support it. There are multiple sponsorship levels businesses can choose from. For more information regarding the sponsorship packages, please visit www.southlandjubilee.com.
