Downtown Greensboro’s next event on July 13
(Greensboro, GA-June 29, 2012) Greensboro Better Hometown and the Downtown Merchants would like to thank DOCK 103.9 and Plantation Cablevision for supporting Downtown Greensboro’s upcoming summer event, Pickin’ on the Greene.

Greensboro’s first annual Pickin’ on the Greene will take place from 7-10 pm on Friday, July 13 with headliner The Packway Handle Band and special guest Pullin’ Strings.  The free event will showcase historic downtown Greensboro as Americana and Bluegrass tunes fill Main Street.

DOCK 103.9 is Greene County and Lake Oconee’s local radio station.   The station plays a variety of 60’s and 70’s favorites and more. General Manager Chip Lyness of DOCK 103.9 has been a familiar voice in the lake area for over 20 years. He is on the air weekday afternoons playing all your favorites tunes and offering local news and information for Greene, Morgan, and Putnam counties; including weather and sports updates.

Chip loves to broadcast live at community events, local businesses, and high school sporting events.  He is committed to helping promote local businesses to DOCK listeners each and every day!

“DOCK 103.9 is a wonderful community radio station for Greensboro,” states Better Hometown Event Coordinator, Kendrick Harris. “Chip and his crew always help to support and promote Downtown Greensboro and the events that we produce.  The station helps with on-air interviews or live remote for our events.”

Be sure to tune into The DOCK from now and until the event to hear commercials about the “Pickin’ on the Greene” and even an on air interview with Kendrick Harris and live performance by Pullin’ Strings.

Plantation Cablevision is another sponsor for Pickin’ on the Greene. The company is locally owned and operated for the past 20 years. Plantation Cablevision is proud to offer the best value for your TV viewing dollar by giving you more channels and more choices with increased quality and reliability.  Be sure to look for the commercial on Plantation Cablevision for Pickin’ on the Greene as The Packway Handle Band performers its original song What is a Packway Handle?

Pickin’ on the Greene is a free community event that you will not want to miss! Bring your lawn chairs and blankets and enjoy live music, great food from community organizations, and relax with your friends, family and neighbors, all in Lake Oconee’ Hometown.

For more information about Pickin’ on the Greene, to become a sponsor, or to register your organization as an event vendor, please contact the Greensboro Better Hometown Office at (706) 453-7674.   Pickin’ on the Greene is online!  Search for DowntownGreensboroGA to find our Facebook page and keep up with all of the latest updates from Lake Oconee’s Hometown.
